What to put on a Mexican restaurant menu

  1. 1

    Tacos

List meat tacos first, then fish, then vegetarian, like this example. Say once which tortilla you use.

  2. 2

    Antojitos

Guacamole, elote, quesadillas: snacks to share while the table picks its tacos.

  3. 3

    Platos

Burritos, enchiladas, pozole. If guests pick a filling, list the choices once, with any extra charge.

  4. 4

    Salsas and heat

List your salsas from mild to hot, so guests can pick their heat.

  5. 5

    Tequila and margaritas

Tequila by age: blanco, reposado, añejo. Margaritas by the glass and the pitcher.

  6. 6

    Aguas frescas

Say which ones you made today, plus horchata.

Before you print the QR code

  • Meat-free tacos carry a vegetarian or vegan label, like the rajas and hongos.
  • Onion and cilantro are listed where used, since some guests skip them.
  • Battered dishes, like the Baja fish taco, carry no gluten-free label.

Edits go live on the same link, so a printed code keeps working. Read the setup guide

Questions about a Mexican restaurant menu

How many tacos in an order?

Two or three is common. Print the number, and sell single tacos if guests like to mix.

How do I show how spicy a dish is?

Use a spicy label and name the chile. Jalapeño, serrano and habanero get hotter in that order.

Should chips and salsa be free?

Many US guests expect them free. If you charge, put the price on the menu.
